Basically, the shot is so dark, it doesn't really provide much of interest, or anything to draw the eye. Maybe some levels adjustments and cropping would help.

If you could have used the patch of light just on the left of the subject that would have helped pull them out of the background. They are also very central in position so possibly something different with the composition/camera height.

Over the top, yup. But far less boring to me.

Irfanview - auto adjust colors, and a slight crop.

I think it has to be dark to give the mood suggested in the title. I would make that lighter patch by her feet a little brighter to make it seem that things will be brighter in the future. (If that's what she pondering) just my opinion.

This is a good pick, and shows a nice, misterious mood. I guess, it just needs some brightening. Not so sure about the subject walking and so close tho.

Your observation is spot on. True, a viewer has no knowledge of the subject, but as you did, you took the title as a clue, and used it when you viewed the photo.....and obviously, it worked!
We can pick it apart on technical merit, but if that was all we used in discerning the value, I'm afraid all of you guys would fail as lovers, when compared to my technique, if that was the only factor used in consideration

Hi, self proclaimed love God.
I like what Mr Bynx has done, it looks like a 70's velvet wall rug. The original is Boring but there are many possibilities.
