Without the original to compare to, it is a bit hard to say, but you have achieved a very natural looking result. Backing up a bit to get the whole flag in the frame would be an improvement.

Since this is critique forum and not HDR forum, I'm going to disagree that the final image looks natural. To me it just doesn't. The flag looks very unnatural against the background. So, while the flag itself looks fine the rest of the image looks very unrealistic to me.

i do not think your hdr pic looks natural. You did a very good job i think at not creating a halo around the flag, and not over/under exposing any areas, but.. lighting just doesnt look like that i real life, so if i had to choose one, i'd pick your original, although as far as an hdr goes, you did a nice job at not making it crazy looking... if you know what i mean.

i don't think this works. the flag is hanging at angle that does not show off our flag well, and is cut off by too close of crop. and the background is too distracting, especially in the first image

for something like an image of the flag. you want to simplify things. work on your angle, maybe frame it against the sky. and have it slightly blowing in the wind or something to get it all stretched out.
