Default Winter Church

Hi Guys, snapped this earlier. I like the shot but seems to be missing something. How could it be improved?

Seems to be missing the main subject. Church? Creek? Trees? Foreground with snow? My eye is all over the image looking for.... ??

I know what you mean, I couldn't put my finger on it. I had the concept of the shot in my head, but it jhasn't come out as I had hoped.

OK I know what it is missing the path to the church... all churches have one ya know but if the world keeps letting th e branches grow over there is none so find a path to shop in there.... from the creek since most use to go down to the River or Creek side to be dunked... hope this helps...

OMO, but it looks to cluttered maybe another angle so you get the relection of the church or some of it in the water.

Had a little play, but still don't think it helps. Snow has melted now so I will have to wait to go back.

I think that's a good choice. I think it works well as a sepia as all the elements involve timelessness or nostalgia.

I try to visualize a photo printed and framed somewhere--huge on a featured wall or small tucked into a wall unit. I see this one in some kind of small grouping with some disparate objects/images that also evoke a longing for the past.

'Course, we just finished a bottle of wine...so take my comments in that spirit! <Groan>

I like the concept of the curch and the snow. Very peaceful scene. You might just need to crop your picture a bit. Here is a quick one I did, also sharpened and adjusted levels.

I like the BW. Reminds me of an old 1800's post card. Nastalgic. Frank
