Default When things start to sink

Hey everybody ! I hope you all had a great holiday in any shape or form

I had this idea I wanted to try out and Im interested in knowing your thought of it.
I tried making it a very moody shot...the PP I've done is just some minor contrast adjustment and slit toning inside Lightroom 3 and I wanted to keep the graininess of the picture to get some mood..

What I basically did was, place my D300 on my tripod. And using the 35mm 1.8 set @f/2.0 , ISO 1600 , 1/60 sec

so...tell me what you think..good or bad

Take Care !

Did you take this with your cell phone? What, exactly, am I looking at? I think I see a faucet. Now for the critique----BAD.

While it is an interesting idea I am not sure it is working like it is. There seems to be too much stuff to look at without a specific focus on one subject. The fingers are definately distracting, and the b/w does not help me with this particular shot. I say keep trying, as there may be something here if done in a different way..As I said it is an interesting and probably difficult shot of washing that looks hard to do.....Frank

I thought it was a picture of some melting ice (seriously!).

Only after Street's second post, could I (also) see the face.

This type of photography is not something I'm that keen on, but just being honest, it's a personal thing.

However I will say you have given it an interesting effect with the colours & grain.

Pretty interesting from the standpoint of I didnt see it. I was looking at the piece of faucet trying to figure out where all the water was coming from. Then fingers were mentioned. Once I saw the fingers your face came into view. Its such an abstract way of shooting it your whole face and hands were lost to me.

im glad someone else said that... i thought i was crazy. That's what i saw at first too. I thought the whitish area in the middle right was the edge of a roof or something, and icicles dripping off the edge.

I didn't see the sink, faucet, or face for a while.

It took me a while to identify the subject, as well. Interesting concept, but not quite there. I would suggest adding a hint of color to the face and hand, to give it more definition.
