Default First pic with my first DSLR Pentax K-x

Here is my first sample pic using my new K-x. I am completely new to the DSLR world and still getting a hang of my new toy. This was shot in P mode, JPEG. Editing involved cropping, applying some warmth and added a border.

Let me know if this works.

Great shot to be the first. And congratulations to a great camera.

Try experimenting a little with the aparteure mode and trying different aparteures. Read a lot about photography. Ask questions on forums like this. No question is dumb. And most important of all, get out and shoot as much as possible. And don´t be afraid experimenting with the different modes including manual.

Best regards/Daniel

Very nice compositional elements to this picture: well framed and great lighting! Where was this picture taken...does not quite look like India!

By the way, you'll find some very welcoming folk on the Pentax forum here at Steve's!

Thanks guys for the comments. I'm in US right now for a short time. This photo was taken near my hotel in Baltimore, MD.

I plan to go the place at some different time (after sunrise or before sunset) and try it with some different lighting. I will surely try with different settings.

Thanks.

Works for me Ronakg!

The composition and colours are quite striking, and there are plenty of features to keep me looking & 'discovering' within the photo (without being initially too busy).

Well done! Very good advice from DS Protection - be brave, experiment, ask questions, change camera settings, etc.

Regards

Paul

Very nice. This would make a great HDR pic.
