Default My best BIF shot so far - Critique

For most of you this would be like "Yeah, been there, done that". But this is the best BIF shot I have got so far, so I kind of got excited when I saw the photo on my computer.

The seagull was flying really low and slow (I shot this with the kit lens, so you can imagine), so I could grab the moment when he was looking at me.

Another seagull in flight by RonakG, on Flickr

I also wanted to ask if we can do something with this shot in PP which will make the image more interesting. I have just cropped it slightly and adjusted the colors a bit, nothing more.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Well, *I* can't say "been there, done that". I stink at BIFs and freely admit it. You did exceptionally well. Bravo!

Um, what is BIF? Bird in Flight? I hate acronyms...I have to deal with way too many of them...they are like alphabet soup in my brain at present.
I think your Seagull is Fantastic...it is clear crisp, good color.
PP is over rated if you ask me, IMHO.
The only thing you could add, possibly, is a tiny human in its beak...but, hey, that's just me.

Ah, I don't like those acronyms too. We have a book named ABC in our company which expands to "Acronyms Book of <Company Name>" .

Hope you didn't mean it literally.

Nice and clear pic, with a good crop. The only thing with the pic that is negative is thjat you really dont get the feeling that it is flying, looks like its just still. You know what I mean? Like tha clouds in the background arent even blurred out... (Maybe you put in the sky afterwards in PS?)

I see what you mean. No I didn't put the sky afterward. As I have mentioned in the first post, the bird was flying really slow, so couldn't get that effect on the clouds. Can anything be done in PP to achieve that effect?

Thanks John. Yeah the conditions helped a lot. That's why they say - "Light is not optional in photography".

Beautiful Shot.

I looked at the the large size on flicker. You got very nice details. Maybe a tighter crop so the bird fills more of the frame and it is easier to see the details.
