Default Eye of the Croc

Hi have shot this image of crocodile in Crocodile Park in Chennai. its asia's largest breeding center for crocodile. I was shooting this particular shot and caught my attention when I was editing the image at 100% view in which eye was so clear so thought as composed it with only eye and cropped out the remaining part.

Please comment on the effort and any suggestions.

Regards,
Abhi.

Nice shot, Abhi. Now, tell me you were using a telephoto lens..

Seeing so close... This is the first time ever.

Great crop but a little more detail would have been good composition.

I'm sorry, I am supposed to offer some critique? I like the shot, it is sharp, good color. Now the painful part. Personally, I would find the animals entire head (portrait) a bit more interesting. I guess it depends on what you are trying to convey to the viewer. Technically, I find it a great shot.

Hi Hagwild yeah it was 150-500mm Sigma Telephoto.
I have cropped the picture to show the eye which was more fascinating to me.

This is the orignal image from which I have cropped the eye part.

Regards,
Abhi.

Good detail, just awesome !

But the angle I think is not so good ! If you wanted a good eye photo, you should shot it directly against it ! That would be great picture !

But, keep trying, the good results are in consequence of many tries and many experience !

Thanx Bugsbunny this was not that easy as it was shot from very long distance with Super Zoom lens and there was baricade obstrucuting the view. Anyways I take ur feedback and would keep it in mind.

Abhi.
