Default Midnight at the oasis

Driving across West Texas' vast and desolate terrain can be a lonely, seemingly never-ending experience. Only the occasional light of a ranch house off in the distance to assure you that you are still on Earth. Then, suddenly, bright lights in the distance tells you that you are nearing civilization. Often you are greeted at the first Interstate off-ramp by a well lit service station, open all night, to attract the weary traveler. Not much different from the Arabian camel rider spotting the grouping of palm trees off in the distance? Rest and refreshment ahead. Approach with caution this late at night? And, of course, who do we have to thank for supplying that all-important requirement...the oil? Hmmm. Oh yes, the Arabs. Just a modern day oasis after all.

I love the perspective! And the colours are amazing, especially the nice blue coming from the sky. Great contrast!

Very nice!
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Max Ehrmann.

Hi Walter

A true 'classic image' of something a lot of us can relate to, no matter which continent we live on!

Nice colours and crisp look. Reminds me of many evening drives I've done... and seeing this 'oasis'.
