Default Dolphin in the Gulf of Mexico

Decided to get out and went down to the a fishing pier on the gulf when a pod of dolphins rolled in, or maybe they swam in. They put on a good show eating all the small fish swimming under the pier. I have lots of shots and really like this one. The white dots or specs as they may appear is water spray after surfacing they blow the water out.

This gives me a happy feeling, something about this shot is playful and free or I watched too much Flipper when I was a kid.

At first I thought those red things on the dorsal fin were crayfish going for a joy ride. I emailed the marine wildlife office and they told me they were a pseudo stalked barnacle, not sure if it interferes with the dolphin but the response was that they obscure identification marking so probably not serious.

Let me know your thoughts, cheers.

Love this shot. I agree there is just something very relaxing about watching dolphins frolic around.
