Default Can not find a name for this photo....

A couple of days ago I went to the city, there I noticed sort of a waterfeature, which still had autum leaves in it, although here in Oz it is now summer, as the sun was shining onto the water, I thought, it looked interesting, so took a photo of it.

But now I am not so sure about this photo anymore, so what other of you think?

G'day Griddi

I think that it falls into the category we all have of "something that caught my eye & looked good at the time"

>maybe< if one or two leaves were selected, where the leaf points had a bit of water-sparkle on them, you might have something to play with...

Regards, Phil

I can see why you thought it was interesting... I'm particularly drawn to the shadows of the leaves and the way the water looks in the upper third of the image.

Unfortunately, there are a couple of things that are detracting... The wall (?) on the left is a big one. Also, there appears to be a piece of something bright white in the center of the cluster of leaves toward the right side of the frame.

But, I can totally see where you were going with the shot... Maybe get a little closer to your subject? Also, depending on what aspect of the image you were going for, perhaps a polarizing filter would be handy?

My favorite thing about shooting digital... No wasted film! Yes, that excites me because I'm still learning and I still have to do a good bit of trial and error. Thank you for sharing your photo.

Thank you Jeannie,

as already stated I have now deleted this photo, the "piece of something white" was a piece of paper, which I noticed, but could not remove. Perhaps I should have taken the photo from a different angle, anyway, no harm done, as you already rightly said, no wasted film, keeping on trying, and the next one will perhaps turn out better.

Regards, Griddi.....

You will always do better! Keep following your inspiration. Eventually, you'll capture something that - without a doubt - you'll want to hang on your wall.

I thnk the shot has potential, Maybe some really aggressive processing to really exagerate the patterns would look cool
