Default Red heads meeting

Red heads captured. This was shot at my farm, it was sunny and did not have a ND filter. Would love your comments.

Images seem a tad out of focus, the background is very cluttered and distracting, and colors looks a bit oversaturated. Also, the objective of the image does not seem clear to me.

I have a more positive response to the shot than Wingman did. True, the focus is bit off (and greater DOF would be appropriate -- no one bird is the subject of the composition) and the reds of the combs look a tad blown to my eye, but the composition works for me. The triangle created by the chickens gives a sense of circular motion to the image that is evocative of farmyard fowl activity for me at least.

I think you could have dropped the ISO and the shutter speed to get a cleaner image - 1/800 and ISO 1000 was much faster than you really needed for relatively stationary chickens. An ND filter wouldn't have been needed for this shot anyway. The 'action' program you were using is for much faster subjects than this.

I'm curious to know what these were taken with- either a lot of PP going on here- or some serious noise reduction..! Still- I like Chicken/Hen etc photo's... they have so much character and make for potentially great photo's...
Keep at it with them birds,patelhemals...
