Default Cropped or not?

We wrangled some time in the gym where my daughter works out twice a week. I cropped it to get a better look at her and remove some of the distractions from the background. Now I am thinking the non-cropped version shows the "context" of the leap on the beam better.

Cropped:

Not:

So better cropped or not? Anything else I should correct for next time?

Don't crop and clone out the second bar. Will be looking for your daughter at the 2016 games.

I don't know if my skills are up to that much cloning. But I'll give it a try. As far as the 2016 games go, that would be awesome. I'd be happy with a university scholarship though. ;-)

I think you know the lesson for next time. It's easy for a photographer to concentrate on the subject and forget to check the background.

You are correct TomH. But it was WAY too big and heavy to move those other beams. The other side had bars galore... ;-)

If it were me, I'd just clone out the floor clutter and leave the rest. But, that's just me.

I, too, agreed that the photo should not be cropped - but that the lower bar should be removed. I am not a Photoshop heavyweight, by any stretch of the imagination, but do like fiddling around in it because every involvement is a learning process. I took the liberty (and hope you don't mind) in trying a little something with your photo.

As gjtoth said, I'd just clone out the boxes on the floor and slight crop on the left.
