Default CA help requested...

so I like this bird shot but the CA around the branches is ruining it.

Looking for tips in GIMP or in general software terms as to how to fix the CA on this.

Like R/C slide to the R or C side or B/Y slide to the B or Y side

Thanks!

Dropping the magenta channel down might improve things- though the lack of colouration around the branches might be of little improvement.
I tried using the colour noise reduction in Raw Therapee and it had much the same effect- dropping down the magenta fringe but leaving a lack of colour in the said area.

In Photoshop I ran Auto Color and that removed a lot of magenta. Then I ran Hue and Saturation, selected Magenta color and desaturated that. All that done what bothers me more are the branches in front of the birds head. A slight change of shooting angle could have eliminated that problem.

Thnx bynx and Simon. You did a decent job. Unfortunately I can't go back and reshoot it... If I could I would have used a better lens... I think you are also right that even without the ca the branches are too distracting

Is your file large enough for a tighter crop? Doesn't get rid of the branches but focuses more on the bird.
