Default A picture I took in Maine

Ok, let me know how you all think about this picture. I think it's a bit drab.

There does not appear to be a central focal point...i.e. hard to tell objective of the image. The sea stars also appear to be a bit out of focus. And, yes, the overall contrast looks a bit drabby. Try a close up of just the sea stars--the nature of the background (i.e. seaweed, shells, etc) makes it distracting). Just MHO!

That is what I was thinking as well. Thanks for the tip.

A lot is happening in this photo. Lots to look at. I find it very interesting.

As mentioned above . . . there is no central focal point, but I guess the way I look at things is a central idea? Sorta like telling a story?

I look at the red star fish and think that if it was brighter, the contrast between the red and green might be cool.

Or I think . . . if the idea is how much life there is . . . maybe take the picture square on and cram every inch of the frame with life and make it more a picture of textures?

Just so many different ways you could go with this . . .

Happy Shooting!

There was a lot going on at low tide that day. It was very impressive. Too bad I didn't have a better camera then.

looks a bit like a pic from a childrens encylopedia, detailing the sea shore or a a rock pool. documenting a scene realistically rather than involving any real creativity.

Its a nice photo, but as said, its not hugely creative, IMO. i expect to see arrows and labels detailling objects in the scene, printed out big on a school wall!

From that perspective though, its good!

LOL! I told the starfish to move apart, but they wouldn't listen. Thanks for your opinion. That's what I wanted to hear.

Interesting colors and textures but does lack interest. Just don't have any suggestion on what you could have done different at the time.
