Default needed opions and advice

I just started playing with editing portraits. I'm using paint shop pro x6 and face filter. I have PS elements 10 as well but I used paint shop pro and face filter in this attempt. Trying to remove the blimishes and give a natural look to the over all image. On the right is what I have done so far to the image. Any advise would be welcomed. Thanks

Here is a cleanup with Portraiture a Photoshop plug in. It did most of the work in seconds. After that I used the clone tool to get rid of a few more acne spots. It seems you have given his cheeks a tan. Try to maintain the pores of the skin. Just get rid of the blemishes.
