Default First studio shot

Using one light this is my first attempt at a studio shot. Comments are always welcome.

G'day mate

Well focus & exposure seem okay - and as you mention '1-light' it seems that you have achieved a very nice blending of your light plus ambient light to create a pretty shadowless photo zone - well done

cc- if I may -
With this subject - the cat being vertical - I could easily go for a vertical photo showing the cat as the main subject in greater detail, and less of the stool it is sitting on. In this manner, the photo could display more of the main subject [cat] rather than the peripherals.

Hope this helps a bit
Phil

Thank you Ozzie. I was showing off the bench a bit too as it was a Goodwill find. Though it would make a nice prop.

I think you nailed the lighting and for studio work that is the hard part. The focus seems to be sharper on the chair than the cat. Also a lower angle to the cat would show off the subject more.
