Tried a portrait make over program. What do you think of the results.

The eyes have become softer. The eyes should be sharper as in the original picture. Overall the portrait program worked very well.

G'day Magikat

You are inviting comment on your image - may I do so

I'm not convinced that the secondary software has helped at all
Apart from a bit of vignetting, I am struggling to see any 'improvement' to the primary image

fwiw - I use Portrait Professional for this type of work
I have run your 1st image thru pp and then into PSE for an 'auto sharpen'
here's the result ...

Your thoughts?
Phil

Ummm - yes ... have I made a bludner here? ~ if so, pl accept my apols

I noticed that the 2nd image was vignetted, it had a slight change to the colour of the eyes, and the lips were 'adjusted' and coloured slightly

However, to my eye, there did not seem much alteration to the image as a whole ... whereas I'm under the impression that a makeover program is / should be able to achieve a bit more than I was seeing

Phil

for 'quick fix' I use DIP-9
blending brush ~ soften 'imperfections'
select eyes ~ invert selection
watercolor @ default ~ 88% transparency
10 minutes total

MAGIKAT, I'm not sure I can add much. I like your makeover. Craig said your eyes looked a little soft. I added a little sharpening, but nothing else.

Im not sure the first image was the best to start with, its very soft and the lighting is not great. It feels like it was cropped from a larger photo.

On the question of before vs after, I dont think the after was that great, its high contrast, but that just brings attention to imperfections.

Its dull, in that it has no pop, the subject doesnt stand out. This could be fixed in Raw maybe but i think a better starting photo would be much more worthwhile.

And smile, you have a pretty face, show it to its full potential!
