Default Roses

Well, i bought some roses, but i waited too long before taking the pictures. The detail accentuates (is that the right word?) the dying parts.

To get the picture from above, i put them on the floor. But, i didn't think it made a terribly good background, so i tried limiting it to the roses themselves.

(Now i just wanna go buy more fresh ones.)

The last one looked pretty good so I did some quick mess'n with it in my antiquated PE2.

Interesting, though the color seems a bit off in the edit, it does remove the focus from the dying edges.

Anyway, i bought new roses and took some new pictures. I'm not sure which angle i like, and i don't seem satisfied with any of these pictures. Must roses be captured just one at a time?

"Must roses be captured just one at a time?"
No, but the repetition of the petal folds, when that is all that is in the frame, is not as interesting (to me, anyway) as a single blossom, or of a bouquet, when it is the bouquet which is the subject, rather than the flowers themselves. (hope I explained what I meant)

Yeah, i understand.

I was staring at the rose over the weekend and kept noticing how soft and nice it looked. I didn't notice the background. So, my train of thought is, the flowers and petals must be what i like.

Well, now that i've tried to capture it, apparently it isn't. I need to learn even the simple things.
