Default Eileen Donan Castle - Near Skye Scotland

Friends,

I recently visited Scotland for about a week.

I am posting one photo that the only post processing done to it was saving it to a smaller size so I could post it here.

It was taken early in the morning before tourists started showing up.

Your comments and critiques are welcomed.

f 5.6
1/100
ISO 100
Focal length 50mm
No flash
Taken with a full frame Canon 5D mark III

(The second photo has had a tweak of exposure and sharpening)

Faithfully Your,
FP

Hi FP, since you asked for C&C's here are my thoughts:
Nice composition with the road leading your eye to the castle. Good feeling of depth.
Some post processing will bring out the details. e.g. some added brightness and sharpening.

I liked the concept and the things which are part of the shot. The only thing which I found missing is the lights as if it was a bit more the shot would be just flawless.

Lovely shot and perspective. I agree with Jehan's suggestions.

Default tech help

Earlier today I wanted to "reply" and include the altered photo. But when I tried to use the "Insert Image" button, it asked for a URL. The photo I wanted to attach was not on a website, it was on my computer.

How do I attach a photo when REPLYING, not original posting?

Thanks!

Faithfully yours,
FP

AT the bottom the reply box, there is an option to "go advanced" Click that, look for the paper clip symbol it will bring up a dialog to add an attachment.

I like your edit very much. I ran your original through my Topaz plug-in, and I'm not sure it made much difference.

That's a very striking photograph. I guess it can evoke various feelings depending on how it's adjusted.

I even thought of giving it a new name - "Stern and Cool". But even that felt a bit severe.

At any rate I've fiddled with it a bit more, including darkening the sky, and suggest it be captioned "Everybody here wears thick tweeds."

While you darkened the sky the overall image look extremely dull and dreary like there is a cloth over it all. There was nothing wrong with the orignal post. Hawgwild has hit it on the head. Good one.

Bynx -

"...... overall image look....extremely dull and dreary like there is a cloth over it all."

You've hit the nail on the head.

That's exactly what I was aiming at.
