Default The other picture

I'm only posting this as a matter of curiosity - same sunrise but a few minutes later from a downtown highrise -

It's "ok". With something like this, the viewer has a choice as to what you want him to see. The eye (at least mine) goes straight to the apartment building. Here's where you step in and show the viewer what you want him to see.

I must confess that my eye too went straight to the building. That effect gives a whole new meaning to the expression "conflict of interest"......

Your cropped version certainly removes the conflict.

That's the type of photo that people in the area will remember and associate with. It has an entirely different meaning and value to them.
That's nice & encouraging - thanks!

Gjtoth - I've slightly adjusted the color of the cloud in your version slightly to make it look a bit more (to the eye) like the actual scene (it looked rather stormy).

The topic of whether a frame can enhance a picture may be worth discussing so I've added one.

I think adding a frame is personal choice. Some folks like 'em, some don't. And, it sometimes depends on the frame of choice.

Precisely. But, I'm quite sure you'll get "disputandum", nonetheless. People just can't contain themselves sometimes.
