Default Shooting property with ultra-wide and foreground interest. Am I doing it right?

Hi everyone,

I did a property shoot for a relative recently; Had a lot of fun doing that though normally Iím mostly a landscape guy. Thereís some nice public greenery in front of the house with a walkway and a ditch. I was looking to combine the house with that. Further I understood when using ultra wide itís ok to shoot low over the ground and have some foreground interest. Also this way the vertical lines donít lean in so much. Closed the aperture all the way to retain as much dof as possible. I was surprised to see that even then the background was still slightly blurred with that irix 15mm on the pentax k-1. So I couldnít have gone in much closer to the turd or the background would blur even more. So I was wondering is there any way to improve on this?

You stood on that very same spot
Dropped your trousers and then took a squat
To achieve foreground focus?
It's not hocus pocus
Do I like it? I surely do not!
