Default The ever-elegant Aussie pelican

G'day all

The ubiquitous pelican is seen all over the country, both fresh-water and salt-water, and seems to do a better job 'fishing' than many of us

This fella was steaming his/her way along a lagoon, thru sun & shade along the way

exif- PannyFZ-200; 1/2000s x F4,5; EV-1; lens at 480mm [FFequiv]; ISO-100

As always, feedback welcome
Phil

I love the sharpness of the pelican and its reflection. The photo gives me a sense of a solitary traveler -- almost lonesome.

G'day Linda

One of the many things I like about the Panny FZ-200 / FZ-300 is its nice sharp lens when compared with other superzoom / bridge cameras ~ and even some dSLRs. [although many of the other 'togs here are using very spunky stuff which I can't afford]

Also that Panny have kept the pixels down to 12mpx means the pixels are well able to capture the image as delivered by the lens

Here's a 100% crop of the pelican's head ... with no noise-reduction via computer software

Not bad from a $us450 camera and shot from a distance of 20m / 75ft !!
