I thought I'd share this image because of the technique. It was shot outdoors on a clear day at 1pm which is not a great time of day for portraits. I used a single JTL Mobilight with battery pack shot through an umbrella. Using a reflector would not have overpowered the sun enough to get this shot.

Shot with Nikon D100 NEF(raw) to better preserve highlight details.

Nice, reminds me of the older 70's movies the coloring and looks.

Thank you! I was very proud of this shot because it was my first attempt at shooting with a stobe outside on a clear day. I have used a strob for fill before, but never as my Main light source. Oh, it was 20 degrees too and his cheeks and nose was getting terribly red. Make-up, Make-up!
