Steve,

I like the 2/3 facial view on this image much better than the first one. Her face now has a complete shape.

There is quite a bit of shadowing over the eyes which minimize the overall impact. If you shot this in RAW then you can pull the shadow detail out a bit more in NC4.2.

The white balance here shouts FLASH. It looks like this picture was taken in late afternoon so the overall color should be warmer than what you have here. You can select a more pleasing balance in NC4 or increase the red and yellow channels in PhotoShop. I usually prefer increasing red and yellow.

You have a point there about the white balance. It looks great on my LCD monitor at home, but does look a little cold when viewd on the CRT monitor at work. Easily fixed for printing though, as I use RAW for all of my pictures.

A cloudy -3 in-camera setting works well with all outdoor shooting.

Wow, which cell phone shoots raw ? I must get one. :-)
