posted this on the BW challenge.
but i would like to get some critiques on what else you think i should have done.
i'm just trying different styles and techniques.

I think you would try to send the same photo with colours. The BW one has less impact.

I'm not quite sure what you are wanting us to see. If it is the actual 'wheels' , I think the front corner of the car is a bit distracting. If the car is the 'wheels' you refer to, then there is not quite enough of it to see.

I think, for this shot, you should have been more to your left , and either included less of the car, so emphasizing the wheel, or more of it, getting both fron and rear wheels in the shot. Also think color would have worked better for this.

Hello Berto,

I love these types of images! I am going to assume that the front wheel is your intended center of interst so my comments are with that in mind.

Composition is great and keep the eyes interested. The problem and also the big distraction here is the open hood. If you had placed an off camera flash to put some light under there, there would not be such a dark element to overpower the intended center of interest. I am providing a different crop to demonstrate what I mean.

Berto,

Rodney's comments make a lot of sense but I might add that the reflection on the front fender also tends to detract from the wheels your center of interest.
