Ralph - you wouldn't see too many cockies in the US would you?A back neighbour of ours had one of these as a pet, and I reckon that bird swore more than any other HUMAN I've ever known!

The photo itself does seem a little underexposed, I'm sure some tweaking in Photoshop could fix it up real good though.

THanks for posting it for us to have a look at.

Yes, I agree, it appears a little underexposed to me too.

I'd also suggest a slightly tighter crop - especially removing some of the sky.

Cockatoos are usaully most intersting when a viewer can see the crest on top of their heads ... usually from a side or oblique view. Then there is still the challenge of properly exposing a white subject. Keep shooting .. it takes several to get a keeper.
