Would love for a wedding photographer to post a "grade" to let me know how far away I am.

I don't know if any of us are wedding photographers, I certainly am not.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I find the concept interesting. There are a couple things that don't work for me in this case, though. The bright parts between and to the outside of the color pictures, tend to pull the attention away from the primary subject. The transition from the B/W to the color pics is a bit to abrupt. Adding frames to the inset photos would smooth the transition. Perhaps a soft spot type filter on the base picture, or graduated darkening would keep the highlights at the outsides from being qite so intrusive.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I'm sure there are others here who can give a more comprehensive critique.

VT, thank you for the criticism. The minute I posted this photo on this website and saw it I immediately focused in on the disturbing bright spots and the frameless pictures that seem to have gotten lost.

The concept just came up. And I was wondering if it was even worth playing with.

I'm not a wedding photographer either but have done a couple weddings (on film).. I can't say I care too much for the look.. Maybe one buried somewhere might have done it.. Perhaps a crop of the couple standing in front of the minister, with one of the color photos pasted on to the cover of the book he reads from.. Kind of like this.. Of course your quality would be much better working with original images..
