Very nice composition. You have gotten the trees on either side so line up well with the arch, which definitely adds interest. I am not sure whether I would like to see more of the arch in the picture or not. It would require seeing both versions, and since I wasn't there, I rely on your judgement.

The treesthat are blocking the castle are a feature that could be done without, though You probably wouldn't have gotten far with a chain saw if you had one.:-)

One of my clients wanted a picture from an angle which also had trees interfering with the subject, and when I pointed this out, asked why I couldn't just erase the trees on the computer :roll:It took a while to explain that it couldn't be done that way.

Framing with the arch is a nice element. You have too much of a nice thing, however. Over a third of the image is the arch. I suggest a tighter crop.

I've done a quick crude edit for demonstrative purposes. I've cropped differently and made a few adjustments to bring out more detail in shadowed areas and to give the image more clarity. It also needs a little sharpening, but the size would have been over the limit for attaching here so I didn't sharpen. The original lacks contrast and good color saturation.

Rodney,

Thank youfor your feedback! I'd like some more ideas, if you don't mind.

I toyed myself with the crop - more or less arch. The image posted has been touched up in PS-CS - Arch was lighted using levels, sky selected/darkened via levels, unsharp mask (I think 100/1.0/2) within labcolor.

How would you suggest I increase contrast, saturation and sharpness? There are so many ways in PS to do something - some workflows are better than others. Looking for ideas here!

Thanks,

Bob
