My understanding of IR is that things that are giving off heat come out white and cold things are dark... Since that appears to be snow on the ground, it probably shouldn't be giving off heat... I think this might be more of what you had in mind. I simply inverted the image.

Looks more like the second attempt created a negative. Green stuff turns white under infrared, not necessarily hot stuff.
