The seagull shot is great. Love the buildings in the background and it's pretty clear.

I alos like the flag shot, the flag doesn't stand out quite enough, but the framing is nice and you could make the argument that the stairs are the most interesting part of the shot (for me, at least), anyway.

USS Growler - I love this shot...especially because it seems like this shot was taken from within a miniature model of a submarine - one made for Lego people.

I also like the bird flying in mid-air with the buildings blurred in the background. I do think you can somehow spruce up the color of the sky though...as I personally think that shade of blue is quite drab.

I'm a fan of the brick building with the flag smack in the middle. Like you and everyone else has said, it's unfortunate the flag could not stand out more. But you got the composition down.

Only davedeal can tell us if it is a model or not, but trust me, I've been on a Russian Sub (as a visitor !),and they really canbethis small. I'm six feet tall and lot's of bending was needed ! Most people today would have to sleep in the fetal position on board.

It's the real thing. The USS Growler is part of the Intrepid Sea & Space museum in Manhattan. They have the Intrepid aircraft carrier, Growler, British Concord and much more. Worth a look if you get in the neighborhood.

I took the hatch shot with a 50mm f/1.8 no flash, sweet lens but a little long for a sub .
Here is a shot of the sleeping quarters

My attempt Dave, to get the flag to stand out more. Selective Levels and Hue/Saturation adjustments just to the flag.

I thought this crop might be better ?

Losing the two vehiclesloses a couple ofdistractions, I found my eyes ping ponging between the two. (Could just be me !!)

And thumbs up for the seagull .

Wow! The flag looks MUCH better. Did you use layers or adjust the original?

Thanks
