It wasduring a social event last weekend. I didn't really have a chance to set my subject. It's more or less a candid shot. Critiques welcome.

It's not bad for a candid shot. I wish more candids that we see looked as good as this one.

I'd crop more from both sides and the bottom and bump up the contrast by increasing the hightlights and lowering the shadows a tad.

Thanks Rodney. Much better.

(Edit Shadow-10; midtone-50; highlight-90. Croped off some of the sides and bottom.

The border was not intentional. It was a result of selection tool being set with feather (2).

Crop or clone out the straps from the shoulder bag and you'll have it. Follow my cloning instrucitions on this thread:

I believe it works the same for the software you are using.

Thanks Rodney. Unfortunately my version of PSP doesn't have "blend mode". So I tried just use plain clone.

nah, I'd not worry about the cheek..I't isn't too bad. If you get too carried away it will not look natural.

Just a couple...

Selectively burn the ear so that it is not brighter than the front of her face. Then do a levels adjustment to brighten up the front of her face and get more contrast. I used the settings 16, 1.15, 239 for this edit.

I suspect that this is more like what your eyes actually saw.
