Well, if I was shooting that kind of action I would set the ISO to 800.

Then you'd have a ton of light to work with.

Also, if you had a powerful flash you could do some fill flash.

Then you'd be rocking!

This is a problem that I've been having for a while and I can get the handle of it.

Looks like he applied a warming filter to the image, or simply changed the color temp of the image to something warmer. Many ways to make that kind of change.
