I just bought my first digital camera, though I've been working in the photo industry for the past 6 years. I've never been in to taking photo's but since I've got this camera, I've been having a blast. I figure the only way to get better is to have the pro's have a look at what I've done. Any input welcome.

Well. the first shot, the focal point appears to be the car at the end of the lane. The shot doesn't really hold my interest. Maybe if there was a pretty girl at the end of the lane or something.

The second shot, with that beautiful little beagle, could be interesting but your framing and angle appears to be off. Maybe if youcrouched down to the level of the dog and shot it more straight on you might have gotten a better picture.

If you take 5,000 more pictures, and regularily critique them, you will be suprised how much better your shots will look.

I would recommend that you go out and keep shooting. Eventually your shots will improve, and you will look back at these photos and realize how much you've improved.

I agree, they are nice shots, but changing the crop or the angle from which they were taken would make them even more interesting to look at.

I agree with you guys on the first shot, I wish the car wasn't there myself, though I do like the way the buildings climb in the background. As for the second shot the angle was done on purpose, so as to show the sad dog (who is tied up) and the fire hydrant that is just out of reach.
