It could be. As is, you have a candid type rendering of a dirty dinner plate that is a bit under exposed.

Art, in its broadest meaning, is the expression of creativity or imagination, or both.

Others believe there is no true definition and art is purely subjective.

To me Art is the product of human creativity. To a level that can be appreciated to those of sound disposition.... hahaha. So that would exclude much of that in the Tait, and anything else that calls two tailors dummies strapped together in clingfilm... art!

This photograph shows no signs to me of creativity and I have not a great deal of appreciation in its form or construction. Its also a poor photograph.

Therefore in my subjective opinion, this is not art.

Sorry. Hope this was purely a test for you.

Yes, it was purely a test, and I was expecting criticism. It just caught my eye as entertaining at the moment. Thanks for the input!

I guess to me it was sentimental, as it was the last course of the last meal on my cruise. But I understand all of your points.

depends on the person.

i mean... its not art to me, but that doesn't mean it isn't to someone else.
for me, i have to see some sort of reason for it.

so i vote "maybe"

i have to vote no on this.. it actually is a little repulsive.. i would much rather have seen it before consumption.. and with better exposure and lighting..
