i think this image is worth working with, i tried a combination of burn tool/clone stamp to get a little more detail in the one rock. any comments/suggestions would be most welcome!

what editing software are you using?

if you are using photoshop, try using the shadows/highlights tool to bring some of the detail out of the shaded area.. and then bring down the highlights too.. shouldn't be real hard to make that look better..

also i would boost saturation a bit.. make the greens pop a lil..

but it is a pleasant photo and will be helped with a little minor photoshopping..

i am using photoshop elements 2.* i have tried a few different things,* using the color variations...i can get more out of the shadows and play with the contrast but i can't seem to come up with a solution for the brighter rocks, especially the one big one closer to center.* i ended up with a combination of clone stamping and burn tool. thank you for your help/suggestions. here i tried again with some saturation and a little cropping:
