my lens was a bit fogged coming from the air-conditioned house to my steamy back yard but i thought it worked.

I think it worked out good for you.
Added a kind of softening effect.

kind of dreamy.

nice shot, i love the sort of foggy hazed effect. well done!

ps- i hate it when the lens gets all fogged up, it's been so humid and hot here it happens whenever i try to go outside..

This works and some photographers actually fog up their lens on purpose to get that kind of effect.

Nice shot and it doesn't always have to be just one flower to be the center of interest.

Also, the detail on white flowers is not an easy task. This one is very, very good and the red behind it adds this capture.

I was going to make pretty much the same comment. It is often quite difficult to get both good detail and exposure on flower shots using digicams. Good work.
