I posted this in the weekly challenge forum, but I want a bit more criticism.

Brutal and honest.

Thanx

I like it, looks like something out of a werewolf movie or something. I think i'd crop more off the top and left and the clouds look a tad fake in some way I can't quite pinpoint.

i agree about the cropping, a little off the top and left would make a stronger impact. overall i like it, very dramatic....and werewolfy.

Is this edited? It apprears to be, mainly because the moon looks comnpletely out of place in the shot. Its almost like a shot of the moon was placed directly onto a dark cloud. The lighting does not work well with the placement of the moon either.

i would have cropped in closer as well.. right now there is just too much empty space and takes away from the impact of the shot..

best regards, dustin

Thanks for the replies. The only editing I did was some levels and a crop. I think I made the edges of the clouds a bit too bright, and thats what makes it look fake.

THe crop I made as already reasonably tight, so I dont know how much resolution will be left after an even tighter crop. I guess I will have to wait for another night like this and try again.

Thanks again.

I guess what really makes the shot not work me is the bottom right quarter of the image where the moon is. The whole corner looks like one big dark area of the cloud. The moon looks more like it pasted on top with not much to really show that its behind the clouds.

I really like this. I think the focus point of the shot is the clouds rather than the moon. The moon is just a sidenote, to show where the brightness to the clouds came from. Great shot.

I also think that the size here, or any computer monitor will do it justice. This would look great printed out at at least A4 size.
