When I took this picture I was interested more in the composition. I don't know wheher I achieved it. 350D with canon 50mm f/1.8. Any other comments will be apprecited. Sometimes I wonder whether I am making any progress!:?

Cheers.

Patrick.

nice shot patrick! i think you did a great job with the composition. we all wonder whether we're getting any better, i wouldn't worry about it, just keep shooting and you'll certainly progress, i hope i'll do the same. keep the pics coming!

I think it's a nice,sharp,well-exposed photo. But,since the aloe(?) takes up most of the picture space, it may seem a little too busy to some.perhaps you should mess with the DOF a wee bit, just to make it stand out more. Then again,it does work as a composition imho.Oh heck, good job!

I like it.

Maybe try it sometime again with a little different light or a polarizing filter to get rid of some glare.

its a good shot.. buti think it could be improved with a different angle that gives this shot a bit more depth.. shot straight on, its just a hair flat.. maybe alter your angle just a bit and see if you can bring out the form and depth a little better..

nice work and thanks for sharing.. dustin

Thanks folks. I will go back and try putting in practice the pieces of advice you have given. I really feel encouraged. Photography is like football. You don't become a star during your first match. Keep the criticism coming. I really appreciate.
