are you using a zoom lens?

I can have great light, and still show shake with my 75-300 canon lens without a tripod when I'm out over about 200 (since i couldn't afford image stabilization)

10x zoom is quite lengthy.. for sharp pics.. i would recommend a shutter speed around 1/500 since your digicam is quite small and light and will transmit shake quite easily.. otherwise use a monopod/tripod..
