Went away and practised getting down to eye level and this was results, feel its better than before images.

that is much better.. the eye contact is better.. and just the presence of the dog in the frame really is improved by shooting at or below their perspective.. nice blurred background too.. this really goes for any animal shoots, shooting down at them normall just leads to boring compositions with little to no eye contact..

you should start learning to do some photoshop if you don't already.. i did a quick little edit for you.. just a bit of saturation, a slight crop and some sharpening..

Thanks for that, the picture you have edited makes a great difference, i am starting to learn about "tweeking" in photoshop i do use the sharpening tools (unsharpmask) but i thought i would send through the untweeked item.Thanks once again for your advice, il just have to try harder now.Bev.

go ahead and send your "tweaked" versions.. that way you can get some feedback on both your shooting and processing skills..
