Hi,

So as per my usual posts:

Things I like about this picture

1) The little detail of red in the center of the flower

2) The way the background has blurred (intentional but better than I hoped)

Things I don't like about it

1) The leaf near the stem - didn't spot it until I got home

Other points

Shutter speed 1/1024, Apeture 2.8, ISO 160

Comments please?

EDIT: OK so forgot to mention, taken with a Fujis602 zoom, no tripod and modified curves in PS a little...

love the picture. the flower is a little soft...i would try an unsharp mask filter in PS and see if that helped out. just an idea.

good luck w/ it, great job.

i may haven even went even more "close-up" on this shot.. get your camera down in there and examine the textures of this flower more.. most digicams have an ultra macro that lets you get real close to your subjects... right now, i don't think there is quite enough substance to this flower for a semi-macro shot.. to me, this shot screams super closeup..

btw- you will need a tripod for this as your camera shake will be magnified at the working distances i am talking about...

thanks for sharing and best regards, -dustin

i agree with dustin about a super close up, that could be interesting. as it stands i'd crop out a lot of the extraneous greenery around your subject, it will make a stronger image.

Hi and thanks for the comments.

Dustin; I tried the super macro and got in close but the light wasnt great and it didn't come out too good. There was a little too much noise after tweaking in PS for me... and yeah;the tripod isin the mail!!

I also was going to crop it out so that there was a little less of the surroundings but as previously on here I have cropped only for somebody to ask for the original!! ;o) So I guessed that I could provide the tweaked, sharpened, cropped image after I knew what was wrong with it! :G

Thanks guys
