let me know what you think. i think i'll reshoot so i can make the bottom left part expose better and not be so dark, but give me your comments. thanks a lot.

info:

f/22 shutter: 15sec ISO 100 taken right after sunset.

i dont think you need the left hand part of the bank or the treeline coming in from the left hand side either..

if you would have just used the logs in the water as foreground, that would solve your exposure problems and may have resulted in a better overall composition.. i would have just shot through the dead foresty areas and let the sky speak for itself.. a little saturation boost would really bring out those colors too.. and hopefully you may even get lucky next time and catch a few clouds..

i think this is a good attempt though that could easily be made better with minor composition tweaks..

thanks for sharing, -dustin

I think cropping it would make it marginally better. Nice shot

Love the spectrum of colors you captured in this one. The golden hues of the water are rich! The trees coming out of the water break of the monotany of horizon pictures, and this is what makes yours different. Priceless.

thanks for all the great critiques. this has been a place i've photographed a lot over the years, and now i have my slr i'm pretty excited, just trying to catch it at a time where there's some amazing sky-work. never fails the night i go out there's nothing. but it's always beautiful. i kindof like the limbs sticking up and all. this is mainly a work for a challenge on www.dpchallenge.com called "branch" that i'm working up.

i'll see what i can do. thanks a lot.
