Hi everyone, here is a picture of a friend of mine playing guitar, this specific mono conversion blew the highlights unfortunately, but to me it looked more appealing. What do you think?

I love it too! As a guitarist, this photo speaks to me perhaps more than it may to others.

Strange chord the guitarist is playing, looks like a D#m.

Thanks for the comments guys

Interesting you say that Terry, my friend (Dave Fisher) is entirely self taught. He never even read a book to learn the basics, so most of the chords he plays are "unique". He doesn't know what the names of the chords he is playing, so when he plays a song, he had to listen to it, work it out and play it in his own chords. He has far to much talent!

John,

I was a self taught guitarist myself.

However, I got to a certain level and got frustrated.

Then I took up bass guitar and hooked up with a Berklee instructor who got me through the basics of music theory, and where all that theory lived on the guitar neck.

Might be worthwhile for your friend to self teach (or get a teacher) and do some music theory because it's actually a cool intellectual excercise as well as improves the playing!

Terry
