Not really into monochrome all that much, however on this one I thought it showed off the nice shadows and lines in this shot. Anyway please let me know what you think and any improvements possible.

Lovely. I agree - the lines and shadows look great in mono.

Very nice. I only wish the tree weren't in the shot...I think it would look even better with just the river shores on each side. Otherwise, very good.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Maybe hang on to this one after all. If I get round to downsizing it, I will post the colour one to see if you think it is better.....

Lboy,

The B&W conversion is brilliant, and the combination of light and shadows works well.

Unfortunately I think the composition isn't quite up to your usual standard; my eye is naturally led to the right of the photo where the curving lines from the bank and the botom of the bridge meet, but at that point there's nothing to hold my interest so it wanders off again. This makes for a restless composition in what seems to be a calm scene - it doesn't quite work for me.

Most of us would be very pleased with a shot like this, but I don't think it's good enough to be one of your keepers.

haha,

Yip,,, Peripatetic,

You know it annoys me too... :?

Goes in the not quite there folder..... ... just needed to be told... haha.

I really wanted something on the bank to the right, but I didn't have long on thisoccasion and it didn't happen..... pity... With some life or movement it could have worked. Its bland and boring, and 3archatecture really not my thing at the best of time.

But your 100 percent right on this one. I'llputthis down to a decent exercise in mono conversion.

p.s. its too bad we havent seen much of your stuff recently Peri ?
