I like it that the dog is in it. I did a minor edit here. Hope you don't mind. It just comes down to personal preferences at this point but I like the continuity of the sky with the branches on the top left cloned out. Not a great edit but just so you see what I am pointing out.

Nice colors and silouhette.

I like it, especially the way the dog is in it.

Very nice !!

The silouhette of the dog is a great component, as is the reflection of the trees(?) in the distance.

I agree with vIZnquest about the top left branches. A little distracting.

Overall, the composition is spot on for me as you have followed the rule of thirds . While rules are there to be broken, this type of scene is well suited.

Your friend was right to suggest you post it and a good first post.

The only trouble is, you have set your bar a little high at the beginning

At first glance I wasn't so sure about this shot, but on second take it's a very nice shot!

I really like this shot. I think the edit that removed the top branches was good too. Beautiful colors, nice silhouette of the dog. Definitely a keeper.

its a good shot.. i am glad you didnt bisect the image with the horizon.. the dog works as an anchor... good symmetry.. a little boost in saturation i think would be nice.. but the colors look pretty good right now.

Thanks everyone. I do like the edit. Not sure if I have software good enough to cut that out. MaybeI can crop it out.

The simplest way is to use the Clone Stamp tool, or equivalent, in your image editing software.

If you tell us what you use, someone may be able to suggest the best way to do this with what you have got.

If you cropped it out, you would lose a fair bit of the sky too, which may spoil the composition.

I agree that the dog makes the shot. I love it. Keep up the great work. I too prefer the clone edit. I love the tonal subtility of the image.
