I like the 2nd photo better than the first.

Other than it's some nice light, what were you trying to express with this photo?

It's difficult to find something to say, then use your camera to say it.

Try looking at a scene, get some feelings about it, then see if you can communicate it with your camera.

Try the above excercise once a week for the next six months, and then you'll be posting some very good shots.

I like the second shot quite a lot. The light is very nice and there are many more interesting details of color, texture and shape to observe in the second shot than in the first.

Second one is definately better.

Be careful of your background - in the first shot it would be better if it was a little cleaner - you also lost a little off the bottom of the fruit.

Second one is slightly out of focus at the top but the background is a lot cleaner... also very close to the bottom of the fruit.

Edited: After looking again I realised that you may have intended for the focus to be tight with the edges blurred - if you did, wicked!

I was in Seville; it was evening; I felt hungry and decided to eat afruit. I was on a balcony where the evening light was coming through the trees and I thought photographing the fruit would make a good subject.

Thanks Terry for the advice. Anything is welcomed since I am a complete junior. If you can send me more hit in a private message. I will appreciate.

Thanks LadyhawkVA for the comments. I feel I am beginning to learn.

ThanksDomCotton for the advice. It is the little comments that you folks make that really stay with me. You can be sure next time I will always pay more attention to the background.

Yes I intended for the focus to be tight, I was wondering what effect this would have.
