Hi everyone
Here is my second gallery from Varanasi titled "Postcards From Varanasi." Varanasi is indeed a photographers delight. I only hope I've done justice to this city in my photographs.
I've tried to capture the vastness of the ganga, the beautiful sunrise, hundreds of boats that you would find ready to take you for a trip across the river, the holy fervor of the city and all things miscellaneous.
Needless to say your feedback is valuable.

In the Critiques and Techniques Forum, we prefer that only one image to be critiqued is posted in a thread.

This helps to keep the discussion focused on a specific image.

You'll see this in the Forum Guidelines. See thissentencefrom Guideline #4:

Quote:
4. Please post only one image per thread...this will allow each image to be judged on it's own merits and keeps the thread on topic.
Don't worry, lots of members miss it. I should probably figure out a way to make it more obvious.

We don't mind if you post a different version of the same image in response to critique (for example, here it is processed or cropped differently). But, if you have more than one image you want critiqued, we'd prefer you start a different thread for each one.

So, for future posts, please keep this in mind.

Thanks.

hey dyu,

i think you have done well in capturing the feel of the city.. i particularly like shots #2 (boats) and #4 (sunrise)... the advice i can give for you in the future for both of these shots is to get down at the level of the water.. i think this will aid you in trying to capture the vastness of the water.. and overall, shooting from the level of the subject usually, not always though, results in a more pleasing shot...

thanks for sharing.

Hi Dustin

thanks a ton for the advice. Been thru you gallery as well. You have some great shots there. Shots Sunset 1 and Sunset 2 explain what you mean by getting to the level of the water.

Appreciate your feedback
