I took these photos a few years ago on a point-and-shoot 35mm camera and have scanned them in. I'm pestering my wife for a Panasonic FZ5 for Christmas (a 'trial' camera to see if I fancy taking photography up as a hobby).

I'd appreciate any thoughts on these photos and how I might have improved them, both in terms of composition and also imaginging I had a camera with the functionality of the FZ5. On Dec 25th I plan to be putting all of these thoughts into action (please, wife?!).

Apologies for the noise levels in the photos - my scanner came in with the ark!

Hi Frenchy,

I am going to my crystal ball and predict a message from a moderator! It says in the first post in this forum (the "how to post")that you should only post one image per thread to be critiqued... however I do quite like your shots.

I think it is a characteristic of first timers. I made the same mistake. Had not read all the rules. The moderator is very kind to first offenders:-)
