In responce the the overwhelming dislike of my last roof top films picture I posted a new one that might have some merit. Really do want your honest thoughts, even more I want your advice on how to improve.

So please don't simply state my photo stinks, dosen't work for you...etc. or if you like it ;if you state it stinks, sucks, etc... and then tell me how to improve on it. If you like it tell me why. Thanks

I really do take your suggestions to heart. And I apologize if I have ever sounded dismissive.

ok, so i much prefer the composition here.. and it does tell the story of this event, some ppl playing music with a movie playing.. so for that, it works much better and its much easier to tell the intent of the picture..

the lighting here was working against you... it was dark so the overall lighing was poor, but there were some very bright artificial light leaving parts of the shot overly bright and others dark.. this also makes the white balance very tough, a custom white balance would be needed here.. i think some flash could have been used effectively here...

Thanks, I never thought of the white balance in this situation. how would you suggest metering for that white balance in a dark situation like this??

i would shoot RAW and then use a custom white balance dropper in the RAW conversion...
