Hi All,

Here is a sunrise down south again... i love the early morning mist below the nice warm glow (it was actually freezing at 7:00 am!).

i love the lines and the soft pastels.. but a boost in saturation would help out your sky a bit..

OK so I have upped the saturation by 20% and also added 50% highlights. Do you think it looks a little too processed? I did the effect then removed it then applied again then removed, etc and just couldn't make my mind up?

It's a nice shot. To me it might look better with something inbetween the land being dark and light. Here is another possible way to edit the picture.

I played around with you image a little bit. If you want to bring some detail out I would suggest doing some contrast masking.

To me I like this image with the following saturation:

Green = 30

Red = 30

Yellow = 40

Next I appliedContrast Masking after the saturation change and only to the land (don't do it to the sky). Lastly I did some Local Contrast Enhansment by using Unsharp mask set to a radius of 50 and an amount of 12. This is what I get:

Hey nelmr,

Thanks for the edit - thats the sort of look that I was trying to achieve but you got it with the right balance and without the noise.

Thanks,

Dom

both of you went a bit too far i think... notice the checkerboard patterns of color.. you may have wanted to mask off the trees and only boost saturation in the sky... you may also consider a crop off of the bottom...
